Proposals were submitted using the Associated Grant Makers Common Proposal Form. Questions regarding submissions should be directed to Linda Trowbridge at (978) 630-9144. All proposals were due by February 19, 2010, at 2 PM, and should have been submitted electronically to: nonprofit@mwcc.mass.edu.
Through the INPD, MWCC has received a three-year (2007 – 2010), $600,000 grant from the Administration for Families and Children, Health and Human Services. The Administration for Children and Families gives priority to social service organizations that have never before received federal funding and who serve the homeless; elders in need; at-risk youth; families in transition from welfare to work; intensive rehabilitation; prisoners re-entering the community; children of prisoners; and couples requiring marriage education and preparation.
We are one of 37 intermediary organizations selected to assist nonprofit, grassroots and faith-based organizations in becoming more efficient. The ultimate goal for our federal partners is to improve your ability to successfully apply for and manage federal funds in the future by strengthening your organization in the critical areas of community engagement, program development, leadership development, organizational development and revenue development. We are tasked to do this by providing training, one-on-one consulting and guaranteed student placements (based on your needs) in addition to re-granting 40% of our award ($80,000 each year for three years) to organizations selected each year as partners.
Partners selected to receive re-grants and coaching will work directly with the INPD from the beginning of the grant period April 1 through September 29, 2010.
Each year, we must submit our full plan for outreach, selection, approach to management coaching, and monitoring of re-grants to our federal program officers. This process, subject to approval by many individuals at the federal level, is often lengthy; while this extensive and detailed process is largely outside of our control, we do expect to release a Request for Proposals in the late fall or early winter.
