Faculty Support

Service Learning Support

The Center is continuously seeking to enrich student experiences and enhance your objectives for teaching and learning.  We partner with you to identify the quality service learning already in place to improve institution-wide reporting. Improved reporting not only increases the opportunity for recognition of exceptional faculty and students, but provides Institutional Advancement with the data necessary to seek and secure funding to support both existing and future initiatives.

We also seek to encourage additional faculty-driven service learning opportunities that tie student academic and social outcomes directly to specific needs identified by our community partners.

Professional Development for Nonprofit Leadership

Many of our faculty serve on nonprofit boards and/or volunteer their own time at nonprofit organizations. Our many professional development opportunities geared toward nonprofit and community-based organizations, grassroots advocates, and faith-based organizations will be of particular interest to you. In some cases, limited scholarships may be available to MWCC faculty. Contact Fagan Forhan for more information.

Connect to Youth Serving Organizations

Do you work with students looking for services geared toward youth or considering a career in youth services? You may find the community asset map for youth services  helpful in gathering this information. This map was developed in the Spring of 2009 by Human Service Internship Students. Updates and improvements to this project are welcomed as an on-going service opportunity hosted directly by the Center.
