Many of
the resources available to nonprofits and grassroots advocates through the Institute for Nonprofit Development are also of
benefit to those of you working in a faith-based setting providing safety-net
services: We provides many opportunities to connect you with our students and faculty,
with high quality training, community discussion on relevant trends, management coaching in five areas of capacity building (leadership development,
organizational development, revenue development, program development, and
community engagement), and (when available) financial support for activities
contributing to your success in these five areas.
We also provide additional
outlets for communicating your message and collaborating directly with colleagues. While there are specific guidelines for how these federally-funded services can support your ability to provide safety-net services, we do not base our decisions
to support or partner with you on the presence or absence (or, for that matter,
nature) of religious affiliation your organization encompasses. We will work with you to ensure that your religious activities are separate in time or space from your secular programming.
We
specifically welcome feedback on how we can improve our outreach and
communication to faith-based organizations providing safety-net social
services.
